One of our main focuses is nutrition as a major challenge in Zambia’s rural areas is access to sufficient nutrition. Zambian women and children particularly are prone to growth stunting as a result of this.

The cultivation of vegetable crops assist farmers both with nutrition for themselves and an additional income. AgriSmart Zambia assists small farmers with crop production through educating them about the nutritional values of various crops, teaching them how to plant and manage the crops and, in many cases, also providing them with the seeds or seedlings for the crops. At a number of the sites small farmers have been also assisted with solar pumps, raised tanks and irrigation equipment to irrigate crops as well as net tunnels to improve the yield of their crops.
